Election Day Coverage
Photographs from across the District from Georgetown's polling locations to Dupont's bar scene; the lines throughout the city stayed long for everything from voting to getting a beer.
For my Musician Project, I am covering Roba Djalleta. She is an American University student but also is the lead singer of the D.C. based band, Berra.
These are some top shots from her performance alongside her bandmates, Lucas and Gibby at the Songbyrd in D.C. on December 8, 2024.
The next step of my project will be to interview her in a sonic space of her choice and discuss her future plans with music.

Visual Article Assignment
For my Visual Article assignment I wanted to manipulate the contents of my photograph in terms of the model but keep her in the settings that I live in everyday. I wanted to convey my mixed emotions about being an artist but also the process of learning how to work in the capitalist world.
I staged my photographs using a friend who was a competitive ballerina. I used a fill flash on my camera but I did not use additional lighting. I asked her to dress as manly as possible but with feminine accessories such as earrings, lipstick, rings and pointe shoes.
There is a thread of silent artistry within each of these photographs, but also an uncomfortable limbo that occurs when an athlete leaves their craft for the working world.
